Job Description

Summary

Senior Buyer III is responsible for independently managing the procurement of materials, supplies, equipment and services. This role involves complex purchasing activities, vendor negotiations and strategic sourcing to ensure cost-effective and timely acquisition of goods and services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery standards are met.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing and terms with vendors.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Analyze procurement data and trends to optimize purchasing strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and vendor performance.
  • Coordinate order status report submissions from suppliers. Resolve changes and discrepancies and update purchase order information accordingly.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to forecast demand and manage inventory levels.
  • Resolve issues related to delivery, quality or pricing discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant procurement regulations.
  • Routine purchase order review and follow-up, and expediting of orders
  • Communicate professionally and courteously directly with suppliers in relation to order processing as required to resolve issues and receive order acknowledgements
  • Work with senior leadership to drive the materials planning process
  • Collaborate effectively with the Production and Materials teams.
  • Provide essential support to various departments, including Sales, to ensure seamless collaboration and efficiency.
  • Support sales team and quote process
  • Assist with physical inventories
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • 4-7 years industry-specific (manufacturing) experience in procurement or supply chain roles.
  • Experience with ERP systems. SAP Business 1 a plus.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail is essential
  • Good organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Logical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Mindful of financial matters and expenditures.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be willing to have "hands on approach" and "self-motivation" skills.
  • Team player in Team Environment a must
