Virtus Healthcare Staffing is searching for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Physician Assistant to join our partner's Urgent Care team in Roseville, CA. This is a unique opportunity for a professional who is not only a clinical expert but also a proven leader. You will provide a high level of clinical and operational expertise, serving as a mentor to less experienced Physician Assistants while delivering high-quality, team-based patient care.

As a Senior Physician Assistant, you will play a central role in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of illnesses and injuries. Your daily responsibilities will include performing comprehensive physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and performing therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, and suturing. Your extensive experience will allow you to work independently on a complex rotating schedule, and you may collaborate on performance improvement activities.

• Advanced Patient Care: Examine patients, perform comprehensive physical exams, and compile medical data. Administer or order diagnostic tests, and interpret results to develop and implement patient management plans.

• Procedural Expertise: Perform therapeutic procedures, including injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care.

• Mentorship and Leadership: By virtue of your experience, you will mentor less experienced Client and contribute to a positive and productive work environment. You may also collaborate with the supervising physician and management on operational and clinical improvements.

• Specialty Support: Based on specific departmental needs, additional duties may include facilitating admissions, transfers, and discharges; performing pre- and post-operative procedures; and assisting in surgical procedures as applicable.

• Patient Education: Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed regimens, health maintenance, and other relevant education.

• Experience:

  • A minimum of three years of previous experience as a Physician Assistant within the last five years is required.

• Education:

  • Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program.

• Licenses and Certifications:

  • A California Physician Assistant License is required at hire.

  • A Physician Assistant National Certificate is required at hire.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required at hire.

  • A National Provider Identifier is required at hire.

• Additional Requirements:

  • A Fluoroscopy Permit is required or must be obtained within 18 months from the date of hire for specific specialties.

  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
