Overview
We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a true software engineering background. This is not a systems administrator role - we're looking for someone who approaches reliability through code, automation, and engineering best practices. The ideal candidate comes from a full-stack development background and has transitioned into operations, with a strong passion for building, coding, and solving complex problems at scale.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain reliable, scalable, and high-performance systems in a Kubernetes-based environment.
• Write production-quality code to improve observability, automation, and system resilience.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure services are designed for reliability and scalability from the ground up.
• Drive best practices in monitoring, alerting, CI/CD, and incident response.
• Partner with developers to identify and resolve performance, availability, and scalability issues.

What We're Looking For

• Strong background as a software engineer (experience writing production code is essential).
• Experience in full-stack development with a desire to focus on reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and how to operate effectively within containerized environments.
• Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and applying creative problem-solving - someone with an "engineer's spark."
• Passion for coding - whether it's Golang, Rust, Python, Java, or another language - as long as you've built production-grade systems, you can learn Golang here.
• Bonus: personal projects, open-source contributions, or demonstrable side work that shows genuine curiosity and technical passion.

Additional Details
The base range for this contract position is $65-75/per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered.
