Job Description

Role: SMT Test Engineer – EPM / Coverage Library Generation

Duration: 1 year contract (plus extensions)

Location: Cupertino, CA

Capacity: Hybrid role - 3 times per week onsite

Start Date: ASAP

We are looking for skilled SMT Test Engineer with strong experience in project management, hardware test planning, and scripting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage SMT test coverage projects , including planning, execution, and reporting.
• Review electrical schematics and layouts to ensure design testability and compliance.
• Develop and maintain test plans for USB 3.2, USB-PD, DisplayPort, PCIe, I²C, and SPI protocols.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to enhance test coverage and resolve issues.
• Build and automate SMT coverage libraries to improve test efficiency and quality.
• Utilize Python scripting for automation, data processing, and validation.
• Track progress and deliverables within the EPM system to align with program milestones.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent technical degree).
• 2+ years of project management experience in electronics testing or validation.
• Strong knowledge of high-speed and serial communication protocols (USB 3.2, USB-PD, DisplayPort, PCIe, I²C, SPI).
• Hands-on experience with electrical schematics, PCB layout review, and test plan generation .
• Proficiency in Python scripting for automation and data analysis.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with test automation frameworks and validation workflows..
• Background in EPM systems for project tracking and test management
