Job Description

Our client, a state of the art process and conveying equipment/solutions provider is seeking a Solidworks Designer/Drafter to add to their growing team. This client is a smaller start-up employer with less than 10 employees, but growing steadily based on increased customers/orders. This role is located in Long Lake, MN , requires IN OFFICE work M-F with 8am-5pm standard hours with “flexibility to live life.” The position pays in the $75K range based on experience and comes with strong benefits, 401K and PTO.

The key to this role is recent and relevant experience with Solidworks design and drafting in the mechanical space. The incumbent will:

• Design and detail drawings of equipment and systems for projects in SolidWorks and AutoCAD applications.
• Design stainless steel welded structural sheet metal – detail out drawings for sheet metal structures.
• Develop Proportional Integral Derivative's (PIDs), complete with motor HP's, component power specifications, and utility requirements.
• Select mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical components.
• Communicate with fabrication shops during design and build of equipment.
• Visit fabrication shops and customer sites to evaluate and support equipment.
• Work alongside an existing team of engineers in a fast-paced, innovation focused environment.
• Design state of the art processing and conveying equipment and systems including bag unloading, batch systems, pneumatic conveying, mechanical conveying, packaging, and dust collecting machinery.
• Utilize Mechanical Intuition – taking designs that are incomplete and make each complete to success.
• Use Mechanical “know how” regarding industrial equipment – design to allow production of fabricated items

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent experience in mechanical design.
• 2+ years design experience using Solidworks and/or AutoCAD (3D modeling/designing).
• 1+ years personal or professional experience designing or working with anything mechanical.
• Strong design acumen and technical ability to detail out drawings for sheet metal structures.
• Team dynamic skills - communication, accountability, decision making, feedback, meeting management, and conflict management.

Preferred but not required

• Experienced in the design of STAINLESS steel welded structural sheet metal
• Hands on Automotive expertise
• Experience – in any capacity - with Fabrication or Machining
