Job Description

Staff Construction Manager

Location: Brentwood, TN (On-Site)

Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

Work Environment : 5 days per week onsite in a business-casual, collaborative office setting

A nationally recognized provider of critical infrastructure services is seeking a Staff Construction Manager to join their high-performing team based in the Brentwood, TN area. This firm focuses on safeguarding sensitive sites nationwide, providing comprehensive design-and-construction security systems for defense installations, museums, data hubs, and other critical locations.

With a growing portfolio of federal contracts and a three-year backlog of projects, they’re seeking a highly organized and deadline-driven professional who thrives in a process-intensive environment and enjoys making a measurable impact through infrastructure that safeguards our nation's most vital assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead construction project planning and execution for federally contracted design-build projects across the U.S., overseeing progress from pre-bid through project closeout.
  • Manage project documentation and reporting requirements for high-compliance, high-visibility clients—ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory adherence.
  • Serve as the communication hub between field crews, subcontractors, clients, internal teams, and regulatory bodies.
  • Coordinate vendor and subcontractor activities, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and project milestones.
  • Create and submit submittals, project updates, RFIs, and other reports using platforms such as Procore and government-specific systems.
  • Monitor construction schedules, budgets, material procurement, and client approvals to keep multiple concurrent projects on track.
  • Develop and implement project-specific safety and quality control plans in collaboration with engineers and field staff.
  • Travel occasionally for pre-bid site visits, project kickoffs, and final commissioning—approximately 3-4 days per month.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in construction project management (commercial, federal, or high-compliance environments preferred).
  • Strong administrative discipline—comfortable managing a heavy documentation workload and navigating complex government protocols.
  • Proficiency with construction management tools (Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar) and fluency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in coordinating design-build projects, working closely with engineers, architects, and estimators.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers processes, RMS systems, and federal contract compliance is a significant plus.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage 3–14 active projects concurrently.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and a self-starter mentality—able to manage deadlines without micromanagement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary with annual profit-sharing bonus potential
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage
  • 401(k) with 4% company match
  • PTO, paid holidays, and additional perks including sports and entertainment tickets

This is your chance to be part of a purpose-driven organization that is not only scaling rapidly but is doing meaningful work protecting critical national infrastructure. Apply now to play a pivotal role in delivering solutions that make a lasting impact.
