Job Description

Beech Valley has a startup client in NYC that is seeking a recently qualified CPA who would like to be part of the pre-launch and ongoing Accounting & Treasury operations for their new venture. This role will report to the CFO. The company will operate virtually but prefers candidates who are local and within commuting distance of NYC for periodic meetings. This is a full-time, direct hire (w-2) or contract-to-hire opportunity.

Role & Requirements:

• Auditing and/or accounting background with experience supporting sales and trading or commodities import businesses
• Junior level CPA
• QuickBooks and Power BI ideal - their CRM is is Zoho with a financial module that is similar to QB and a Power BI analytics package
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills needed - including experience designing and implementing accounting flows and management reporting
• Clear and confident communicator with senior management, a strong team player, willing to dive in and get the work done
• Skilled and confident in using video conference and collaboration tools to get work done
• Initial focus will be system setup and testing, followed by establishment of ongoing business procedures, controls and management reporting

Following launch, responsibilities will include:

• Daily, month end, year-end accounting, control and reconciliation processes, revenue and expense management, and cash flow forecasting
• Design and implementation of new Accounting & Treasury procedures, controls and systems enhancements as the business builds
• Design and implementation of management reporting to meet the needs of Investors, the Board and Senior Management
• Year-end financial and Tax reporting
