About Onda (

Onda is an innovative surf app created by surfers, for surfers. We're launching in Northern California this summer and need passionate surf enthusiasts to help bring our community-first approach to local beaches. This is a ground-floor opportunity to be part of an exciting startup in the surf tech space.

Role Overview

As a Surf Marketing Intern with Onda, you'll be at the forefront of our grassroots marketing efforts. You'll represent our brand at beaches, surf shops, and local events, connecting with fellow surfers and building our community. This hands-on role combines your passion for surf culture with practical marketing experience, perfect for students or recent graduates looking to build their resume while spending time in the surf community.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct on-the-ground marketing at local surf spots, including wax giveaways and app demos
• Staff tables at beaches and participate in launch events (June-July 2025)
• Post flyers and QR codes at strategic locations in your assigned region
• Create authentic social media content for our Instagram from the field
• Collect user feedback and stories from local surfers
• Support local launch parties and community events
• Track and report field activity and download conversions
• Build relationships with local surf shops and community members

Qualifications

• Active surfer or surf culture enthusiast with knowledge of local breaks in your region
• Strong communication skills and outgoing personality
• Reliable transportation to beaches in your assigned area
• Smartphone with camera for social content creation
• Available 10-15 hours per week, including weekends
• Social media savvy, especially with Instagram
• Interest in marketing, community building, and startups
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently
• Currently enrolled in college/university (preferred but not required)
• Must be reside locally in the Bay Area, CA this summer.
