Job Title: Utility Worker – Food & Nutrition Services

Location: Plainsboro, NJ 08536

Schedule: 5 days/week, including weekends and holidays

Shift Hours: 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM (40 hours/week)

Position Overview

The Utility Worker will support the Food & Nutrition Services department by performing dishwashing, sanitation, and general cleaning duties. This role ensures the safe, clean, and efficient operation of kitchen and food service areas, while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor with patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain dishwashing machines.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Clean assigned areas using approved germicidal detergents, supplies, and equipment (including sweeping and mopping).
• Clean and disinfect trash receptacles; collect and dispose of waste.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all food service areas.
• Follow all safety protocols, including food safety, infection prevention, and personal hygiene standards.
• Interact respectfully and courteously with patients, visitors, and staff.

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service, sanitation, or related work preferred, but not required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
