Job Description
Job Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Prepare financial exhibits, marketing documents and information memorandums for clients in the technology, media, and telecommunications (collectively "TMT") industry. Perform deep-dive valuation and other financial analyses (including discounted cash flow, leveraged buyout (LBO), merger consequences, comparable companies, and precedent transactions) during buy-side or sell-side M&A or financing processes (e.g., impact of issuing equity, debt, or repurchasing shares) to present to corporates, financial sponsors, and private clients. Analyze accounting and regulatory statements, debt and equity filings and documents, financial projections, and models to support analyses. Prepare presentations and pitches for C-level executives on topics including strategic alternatives, capital structure solutions, potential M&A and financing transactions, and industry trends. Draft financing and marketing materials to assist clients in their presentation to potential buyers of the company or their securities and other relevant third parties. Work with industry coverage group and interact and coordinate with both clients and other groups within the Firm, including Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Legal and Compliance divisions, to execute financial transactions, which includes, but is not limited to, interacting with client management, or potential buyers, often on a daily basis, analyzing financial statements and projections, conducting due diligence, drafting financing or marketing materials, and assisting in the preparation of debt, equity, or merger filings and regulatory documents (including SEC-filed documents, press releases, and merger proxies). Organize and prepare presentations that explain industry trends, discuss client options, and recommend strategies to meet client goals for established and emerging companies within the TMT industry.
Job Requirements: Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Finance, or a related discipline and (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role or bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Finance, or a related discipline and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior work experience must include two (2) years with Master's degree or five (5) years with Bachelor's degree with the following: analyzing financial markets with respect to investment banking's key trends, competitors, products, and regulations; utilizing financial data sources including Capital IQ and EIKON to fulfill various client deliverables including market updates and evaluation of potential M&A transactions and capital market transactions including equity and bond offerings; analyzing regulatory filings, including 8Ks, 10Ks, and proxies, and Wall Street analyst research reports; coordinating with teams across divisions to provide financial advice to companies on complex financial transactions; project management, including demonstrated experience managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced team, while developing junior staff and juggling competing priorities; and using various Windows desktop applications, including Word, PowerPoint and particularly Excel; including formula and analytical tools including sensitivity tables, regressions, and charts to develop financial models and complex presentations related to various topics including business strategy and corporate finance. Domestic travel required 10% of the time for client meetings and engagements.
Salary Range: The expected annual base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $174,000 - $300,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
