Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welding Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company in St. Louis. This position will play a critical role in supporting the welding department by designing weld fixtures, specifying welding processes, and ensuring that production meets the highest standards of quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in robotic Mig welding within a manufacturing environment and will be committed to continuous improvement in all aspects of tube fabrication and assembly.

Details:

Salary Range: $90k - $130k

Shift: 7am - 3:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welding Process Support: Provide production support for all types of welding, including Mig, Tig, spot, and flash welding.
  • Fixture Design: Design and procure fixtures for the weld department to improve and document existing welding processes.
  • Problem Solving: Diagnose manufacturing problems and introduce new processes for higher quality and better efficiency.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend process changes to maximize efficiency in terms of both people and space.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Set up machines, check parts in production, work with outside vendors, and support Sales and Project Managers during sales calls and customer visits.
  • Standards and Compliance: Maintain professional standards of conduct and ensure that the quality of products meets company goals, preventing defects and potential financial losses.
  • Confidentiality: Handle confidential information regarding manufacturing know-how and patents in accordance with company policy.

Experience/Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience with robotic Mig welding in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering theory and manufacturing techniques. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
  • Skills: Ability to develop and maintain accurate records and reports, effectively manage time and materials, solve process problems independently, and communicate effectively with a diverse range of people.
