About the Role

The Welding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of welding personnel to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of welding processes, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct welding personnel, providing guidance, training, and support.
• Ensure all welding activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
• Plan, schedule, and assign work to welding teams to meet production deadlines.
• Monitor welding processes and equipment to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Inspect welds for defects and ensure they meet required specifications.
• Troubleshoot welding problems and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of welding activities, materials used, and production output.
• Evaluate employee performance, provide feedback, and identify training needs.
• Manage and maintain welding equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Enforce company policies and procedures.
• May be required to work voluntary overtime.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Welding Supervisor or in a similar leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, stick).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
• Strong understanding of welding codes and standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Commitment to safety and quality.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or technical training is preferred.
