Job Description

Business Intelligence Analyst

About the Company: We are a rapidly growing PR company in Los Angeles focused on fostering strong relationships with our clients while creating positive community impact. This hybrid position offers an exciting opportunity to join a team dedicated to growth and innovation.

About the Role: Our company is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst with a strong financial or accounting background. This role will be heavily focused on analyzing and managing budgets, invoices, and time logs for our customer across multiple projects and contracts. The ideal candidate will possess advanced Excel skills, financial acumen, and an eye for detail to ensure accurate billing, budget management, and data analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize detailed project budgets, often in 12-month or 4-6 month intervals, ensuring all costs stay within allocated funds.
  • Work with project managers to rework and update budgets on short notice due to delays or changes in funding sources.
  • Analyze time logs to ensure accurate billing, confirming that staff hours are logged correctly by task and department.
  • Create and analyze invoices based on project budgets and actual work performed, ensuring all data aligns and makes sense to invoicing standards.
  • Assess workload completed each month and adjust invoices to ensure we are accurately billing without exceeding project budgets.
  • Provide insight on how to best allocate and use budgeted funds, ensuring no money is left unused without going over budget.
  • Prepare and submit detailed invoices with detailed breakdowns of task, person, and subcontractor costs.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including subcontractors, to ensure all budget and invoice data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Provide ongoing support to project managers and other team members on budget analysis, invoicing, and time tracking.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a financial analysis, accounting, or business intelligence role, with strong exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and invoicing.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of complex formulas, pivot tables, macros, and data visualization techniques.
  • Solid understanding of financial principles, with the ability to interpret and analyze large datasets.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Previous experience with government or consulting budgets and invoicing is a plus.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting and time log management is a must.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Hybrid: 2 days in-office, 3 days remote

Compensation: $70,000 per year
