Job Description

We are seeking a college graduate with aspirations of dental school admission entering their gap year to join a Pediatric Dental practice in Summit, New Jersey. You must be team-oriented and always consider our patients and their families as the primary focus during each appointment.

This practice is owned and managed by a solo practitioner who started the practice over 27 years ago. There are 1-2 dental hygienists always present in this preventive-oriented pediatric dental practice. We provide preventive, restorative, oral surgical and emergency dental care to infants, children, adolescents and special needs patients. The salary and benefits package is competitive.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level of patient care
• Assistant participating in all phases of routine pediatric dental treatment
• Instrument sterilization, set-up and breakdown, followed by room preparation for the next patient
• Dental charting
• Monitoring inventory of dental materials and instruments and ordering as needed

Qualifications

• Gap year between college and dental school required
• Highly motivated, well-organized team player who is eager to learn
• Exhibits a positive attitude
• Strong ability to multi-task
• Excellent communication skills with pediatric patients and their caregivers
• Comfortable with special needs patients
