Job Title: Staff Civil Designer

Duration: 6-month assignment with possible conversion

Location: Phoenix, AZ 85004

You will be an integral part of our project teams, contributing to the development of construction documentation and designs for a variety of project types. This role offers the opportunity to grow from production drafting to contributing to early-stage design concepts.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with civil and structural engineers to produce accurate and high-quality construction drawings.
• Interpret and implement redline markups provided by engineers.
• Develop detailed drawings based on broad direction, gradually increasing independence in design layout and detailing.
• Visualize structural elements and understand their constructability.
• Apply knowledge of design codes and specifications relevant to project requirements.
• Review design drawings for quality assurance, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and schedule.
• Manage revisions of project drawings and maintain organized project-related information.
• Potentially support civil design tasks, including site design, land development, and utility design.

Required Skills:

• Proven experience in structural drafting.
• Expert proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and ideally 3D).
• Ability to interpret plans, sections, elevations, and structural details.
• Understanding of steel framing plans, rebar layouts, and concrete detailing.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Experience with Civil 3D.
• Familiarity with Revit, SP3D, Plant 3D, or Bentley MicroStation (BIM exposure).
• Some experience with civil design elements (earthwork, concrete, site layout).
• Previous experience in a production drafting role with increasing design responsibilities.
• Experience in steel or rebar fabrication (understanding of fabrication processes).
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Degree or certificate in drafting technology or a related field.
