SAIC is seeking a motivated and skilled Engineering Technician whom will work effectively in a fast-paced collaborative environment at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI .

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides technician support and expertise to a cross-functional team.
• Provides solution recommendations to engineering and fabrication problems of moderate scope and complexity in an expeditious, efficient, and timely manner.
• Hardware fabrication and assembly of systems, cables, and wire harnesses.
• Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems.Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics and logic systems.
• Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
• Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Collects, maintains, organizes, compiles, and manipulates technical data.
• Provides redlines or identifies issues with engineering documentation, reports, or drawings (sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics, etc.).

Qualifications


Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in a technical field; High school diploma or GED certificate.
• Candidate must be a US Citizen.
• Must currently possess an active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS Clearance .
• Production cable building experience.
• Experience with Electro-mechanical hardware design and fabrication.
• Ability to read schematics/drawings and troubleshooting from schematics/drawings.
• Ability to use a variety of precision measuring tools, including multi meters, micrometers, calipers, and other similar metrology devices.
• Attention to detail.
• Common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR) experience.
