Description SAIC is seeking a motivated and skilled
Engineering Technician whom will work effectively in a fast-paced collaborative environment at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in
Newport, RI .
Duties and Responsibilities: - Provides technician support and expertise to a cross-functional team.
- Provides solution recommendations to engineering and fabrication problems of moderate scope and complexity in an expeditious, efficient, and timely manner.
- Hardware fabrication and assembly of systems, cables, and wire harnesses.
- Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems.Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics and logic systems.
- Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
- Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Collects, maintains, organizes, compiles, and manipulates technical data.
- Provides redlines or identifies issues with engineering documentation, reports, or drawings (sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics, etc.).
Qualifications Qualifications: - Associate's degree in a technical field; High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen.
- Must currently possess an active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS Clearance .
- Production cable building experience.
- Experience with Electro-mechanical hardware design and fabrication.
- Ability to read schematics/drawings and troubleshooting from schematics/drawings.
- Ability to use a variety of precision measuring tools, including multi meters, micrometers, calipers, and other similar metrology devices.
- Attention to detail.
- Common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR) experience.
