About the Position:
-The position serves as an Epidemiologist within the Public Health National Program Office (PHNPO). PHNPO is responsible for improving the health of Veterans through professionally developed policies and programs relating to nationwide public health surveillance, prevention, intervention or treatment, and research. The office pays special attention to the unique health care needs of Veteran populations and their susceptibility to emerging or reemerging infections, health care associated infections, and non-infectious conditions or illnesses of public health importance such as those associated with climate change and bioterrorism.
-Occupational Requirement: Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
