Description The SAIC Corporate Finance Department is seeking a student intern for the summer of 2025. This is an ideal opportunity for college students seeking real-world finance experience with an organization driven to advance the power of technology and innovation to serve and protect our world. This internship will offer opportunities to work with senior leaders and contribute to important corporate finance responsibilities and projects while gaining valuable work experience.
Interns will have exposure to a wide variety of corporate finance responsibilities, including: Accounting, Financial Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Project Control, Government Compliance, Corporate Development, Treasury and Tax. You will gain valuable experience to accelerate your learning and potentially earn a permanent position after completing your college education.
Throughout the internship, there are ongoing learning events such as lunch and learns and regularly scheduled training offerings designed to help you develop technical and professional skills. Interns will collaborate with fellow interns on a special project and present to senior leaders at the conclusion of the internship. Social activities will also be available to network with SAIC professionals.
Positions are either in-person at our Reston, VA headquarters or 100% remote nationwide. Internship Duties and Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter who has keen analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail. This individual should have the ability to work collaboratively with employees at various levels throughout the company and be able to meet tight deadlines as necessary.
Representative responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Gain exposure to SEC financial reporting and government contracting compliance requirements
- Perform data analysis and reporting key performance indicators and operational trends
- Financial modeling using MS Office Excel
- Analyze selected financial statements and prepare reconciliations
- Assist with daily cash position reports, monthly bank reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures
- Support preparation of tax returns and other special tax projects
- Participate in quarterly forecasting planning and analysis
- Assist in market evaluation and consideration of acquisition candidates
- Develop budgets (spend plans) for assigned programs and perform financial analysis on funding profiles and program financial variances.
Qualifications Required Education and Qualifications: - High School and three (3) or more years of college coursework at an accredited university, majoring or having completed coursework in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration
- US Citizenship Required
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint-formulas , analytics, effective data presentation
- Should be adaptable; duties, responsibilities and requirements may change over time and according to the project's needs
- Ability to work independently while utilizing team guidance
- Recent teamwork/leadership role
- Prior related work experience is also considered
