About Ashuelot Valley Academy (AVA):

Located in Keene, NH, Ashuelot Valley Academy (AVA) is a co-ed day school serving students in grades 5-12. As part of Mount Prospect Academy, Inc., AVA is a NHDOE-approved Non-Public School and Special Education Program.

At AVA, students live at home and attend their academic programs on campus. We pride ourselves on maintaining a high faculty-to-student ratio, ensuring personalized attention for each student.

AVA is a therapeutic school that recognizes the challenges students face when emotional or mental health needs interfere with learning. Our embedded therapeutic support services aim to address these underlying factors, creating a safe and supportive environment for all. Our teachers provide competency-based instruction and employ innovative strategies tailored to non-traditional learners, all while being supported by trained mental health professionals. We offer individualized academic support services and ensure our students have full access to the general education curriculum as outlined by New Hampshire curriculum standards.

Academic engagement is a crucial part of our treatment plans. We consider each student's family and sending school district as key stakeholders in all planning efforts. Students are enrolled in the appropriate academic classes based on their sending school district's graduation requirements and AVA's recommendations. AVA awards graduates with a high school diploma that meets New Hampshire state minimum standards.

Summary:

Are you passionate about teaching and ready to make a meaningful impact? AVA is looking for a certified high school math teacher to join our dedicated and collaborative team. Here's why AVA could be the perfect fit for you:

School days run from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, offering a balanced schedule that allows for personal time. While we have a 220-day school year, vacations are scattered throughout, giving you time to recharge without losing momentum with your students.

Small Class Sizes: Enjoy the opportunity to work closely with students in smaller classes, where you can get creative with Common Core standards and tailor your teaching to meet each student's needs.

Supportive Environment: Our team is not just a group of colleagues—we're a community. We work together to ensure that every student graduates with confidence and a high school diploma.

Retired NH Teachers Welcome: Retired New Hampshire teachers can join us without affecting their retirement benefits, making this a perfect opportunity to stay engaged in education and continue shaping young minds.

If you're passionate about personalized learning and want to be part of a caring, innovative school, we'd love to hear from you!
