The Opportunity:

Fujitsu General America, Inc. (FGAI) has been making the hottest places cool and the coolest places more comfortable for over 50 years now. FGAI has an in-house HVAC Service Technician – VRF opportunity in the growing HVAC industry. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting Fujitsu Reps, contractors and distributor Technical Service Advisors (TSAs) on job sites with troubleshooting FGAI systems, via the phone. You will also be responsible for assisting in FGAI’s Quality Control area with inspecting returned failed units when necessary. Although this position requires 90% phone troubleshooting, there may be times you will be asked to do local jobsite visits.

What You'll Do Every Day:

• Interact with customers to explain issues, discuss repair or replacement options, and provide advice on efficient system operation via phone or email.
• Utilize technical knowledge to diagnose and pinpoint problems and develop solutions
• Update and maintain cases immediately in ticketing platform.
• Travel when necessary to job sites in your local region, within the United States.
• Complete various tasks required by management (i.e., setting up systems, assisting on job sites and in Quality Control).
• Adhere to guidelines and federal regulations when installing or repairing HVAC systems.

The Ideal Candidate:

• 3-5 years’ experience as an HVAC technician (service, installing, commercial, residential product) required
• Universal certification for handling refrigerants, which includes EPA certification
• Proficient in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) systems.
• Basic electrical knowledge with the ability to read schematics
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Understand and read a meter (volts, amps, ohms)
• Understand and read Refrigerant Pressure Temperature chart
• Basic use of hand tools
• Understanding the refrigerant cycle
• Basic understanding of computers
