Job Description

Our client is looking to add an Instructional Designer to their team. This is a 10+ month long contract with the potential to extend and would require you to go into the office Tuesday - Thursday in Waltham, MA.

The Commercial Learning and Leadership Development (CL&LD) team is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Instructional Designer / Graphic Designer to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing engaging learning experiences and visually appealing graphic content. The role involves collaborating with subject matter experts to create instructional materials that enhance learning and retention.

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Design:

  • Analyze learning needs and performance gaps.
  • Develop instructional materials, including e-learning modules, job aids, and training manuals.
  • Design and implement interactive and engaging learning experiences using various multimedia elements.
  • Apply adult learning theories and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM).

Visual & Graphic Design:

  • Create visually appealing graphics, infographics, and other visual content to support instructional materials.
  • Ensure all visual content aligns with branding guidelines and enhances the learning experience.
  • Develop layouts and designs for digital and print materials.

Collaboration & Project Management:

  • Work closely with subject matter experts to gather content and ensure accuracy.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and project milestones.
  • Communicate progress and updates to stakeholders regularly.

Additional Responsibilities may include:

  • Support the development of internal and external presentations.
  • Assist in marketing and omnichannel efforts by creating visual content that aligns with marketing strategies.

Qualification, Preferred Skills, and Contract Details:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Graphic Design, Education, or a related field, preferred.
  • Proven experience in instructional design and visual/graphic design.
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia).
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with e-learning authoring tools and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Knowledge of gamification and microlearning techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and creativity.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Strong organization and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Able to handle changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work independently in a proactive manner to anticipate and solve problems.
