Job Description
At GDT, we specialize in delivering top-tier IT solutions. This Lead Installer position will work across Branchburg, Harrison, Norristown, Pennsauken, Syosset, & Wayne. This is a 12-month contract, option to hire role, with 50-75% travel in the eastern US.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and Terminate Cables: Execute precise installations of copper and fiber optic cables, adhering strictly to industry standards.
- Testing and Troubleshooting: Utilize advanced tools such as OTDRs and voltmeters to conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of cabling and DC power systems.
- Leadership and Supervision: Lead and supervise teams of installers, ensuring all work meets high-quality and safety standards.
- Documentation: Maintain meticulous documentation of all installations and testing results to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Technical Expertise: Possess comprehensive knowledge of telecom network cabling, including single-mode fiber, multi-mode fiber, Cat5, Cat6, OM3, OM4, DS1, DS3/Coaxial, timing cabling, alarming and monitoring systems, Telecom environment infrastructure, and Telecom -48V DC power cabling.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in cable installation with a strong focus on DC power systems.
- Industry Leadership: Proven track record of leading installation efforts in Data Center and Central Office environments.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in cabling standards, testing tools, and DC power systems.
- Certifications: Familiarity with BICSI standards and the ability to interpret blueprints.
- Ability to travel 90% of the time
