AIM World Services, Inc. is hiring an experienced General Maintenance Worker to support facility operations at Naval Base Kitsap . This role is responsible for repairing, maintaining, and improving building structures, mechanical systems, electrical components, and general equipment. We’re looking for a dependable, multi-skilled maintenance professional who can work independently and as part of a team.
Job Summary
The General Maintenance Worker performs a wide range of building and equipment maintenance tasks, including carpentry, basic electrical work, plumbing repairs, painting, appliance repair, and general facility upkeep. This position supports daily operations by ensuring that facilities remain safe, functional, and in good repair.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on buildings and facility systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, sanitary).
- Troubleshoot and repair basic issues with machinery, equipment, and building components.
- Maintain working knowledge across multiple trades to complete tasks effectively.
- Repair walls, floors, doors, woodwork, and structural components.
- Replace switches, fixtures, motors, and other electrical parts.
- Perform painting, patching, and touch-up work as needed.
- Repair or replace plumbing fixtures, faucets, valves, and small appliances.
- Replace glass and perform minor carpentry.
- Complete maintenance work orders accurately and on schedule.
- Follow all AIM safety policies and standard operating procedures.
- Perform other related duties to support contract requirements.
Qualifications
Required:
- 4 years of building or facility maintenance experience in housing, office, industrial, recreational, or institutional environments.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings .
- Familiarity with test equipment, hand tools, and diagnostic instruments used in the trades.
- Experience repairing plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling, sewage, and household appliances.
- Must obtain and maintain Explosives/Ordnance certifications when assigned.
- Must provide and maintain basic hand tools required for the job.
- Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to meet physical, medical, and security requirements (including respirator qualification if needed).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- May be required to obtain Backflow Preventer Certification.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.
