Job Description
The Manager of Energy Management's primary role is to support the Operations team to reduce and maintain optimal energy usage in support of PECO's Sustainability goals. This role will develop operational energy management guidelines, implement energy and sustainability capital projects, manage utility budgeting for all PECO assets, and utilize existing energy management tools to monitor and report on property and portfolio energy usage.
Core Functions: - Manage all energy and utility-based expenses across the PECO portfolio supporting energy expense and consumption goals.
- Coordinate with the Operations teams to ensure that all properties are operated in an efficient and sustainable fashion.
- Develop new energy reduction opportunities programs through operational-focused programs at the asset and portfolio level.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for HVAC, lighting controls and energy management.
- Support annual utility budget forecasts and projections for PECO portfolio.
- Manage utility data collection, including data validation, for internal, JV and external facing ESG reporting.
- Implement an ongoing utility/energy strategic planning program and accompanying long-term financial forecasts.
- Identify and execute energy and sustainability projects as approved by PECO leadership.
- Provide technical support to Property Management, Portfolio/Asset Management, and Development on all issues related to energy assets or water use.
- Perform due diligence on energy assets of potential new acquisitions.
- Identify and facilitate all potential utility rebates and other incentive opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Operations team on operational and preventative maintenance practices that address energy and water waste.
Tenant Coordination - Facilitate energy-related requirements and processes with tenant coordination efforts (i.e. tenant sub-metering, tenant load studies for energy redistribution).
- Support maintenance and updates for contractor's rules and regulations.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in, Engineering or related required.
- Familiarity with energy systems and technology, utility rate structures, and energy auditing.
- Strong analytical skills
- Professional accreditation such as EIT, PE and/or CEM preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
