Pay Range: $29.52 - $44.52 per hour

Job Purpose: Performs and reports laboratory testing in a manner to promote the efficient operation of the laboratory and effective patient care. Will work as a Generalist at the CHA Everett Hospital Laboratory.
Duties and responsibilities include: *Performs phlebotomy on both adult and pediatric patients. *Performs testing in Chemistry, Hematology and Transfusion Medicine. *Performs and evaluates Quality Controls *Participates in Proficiency testing. *Troubleshoots basic instrument problems. *Receives and process a variety of laboratory specimens and utilize the Meditech computer system for data entry; computerized worksheets and interfaces are used in the performance of testing. *Performs both STAT and Routine testing in an accurate and timely manner. *Assists the manager in the development of new methods and evaluates cost feasibility as required. *Trains new employee in department procedures and policies. *Participates in department meetings. *Works with fellow staff members to analyze workflow processes and conduct QI audits. *On-call coverage responsibilities. *Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Have a B.S. or B.A. degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Medical Technology
Have an Associate Degree in Laboratory Science
Have MLT (ASCP) certification or equivalent
Have CLA (ASCP) certification with one year experience
Have met current CLIA ’88 regulations for high complexity testing
Additional preferences: 1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills 2. Fluency in the English language
