Job Description

Job Title: Ocean Import Agent (Operations) - Full Time, 40 hours per week

Salary: Dependent on Experience.

Report to: General Manager

Location: Bellevue/Redmond, WA

What were looking for

Maple Lane Logistics is currently looking for candidates with around 1-3 years of experience in the ocean freight/logistics import/export industry. (CY/CY, INTERMODAL, DRAYAGE, CY/DOOR)

Must have strong attention to detail, good time management, and strong communication skills with the ability to work as a team while working in a fast-paced environment.

The Ocean Import Agent is primarily responsible for ensuring the proper and timely movement of international and/or domestic shipments.

About the Position

Duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

Tracks, traces, and updates the status of shipments on a daily basis.

Prepares, compiles, and sorts documents for data entry.

Transfers information from email instructions and a variety of shipping documents into MS Excel spreadsheet, Company system, and cloud files.

Ensures accurate and timely data entry into our system (GoFreight).

Maintains effective communication with customers, vendors, other Maple Lane offices, and co-workers through a high volume of e-mails, phone calls, and verbal contact.

Prepares shipping documents before sending to customers.

Monitoring of reports on a daily basis.

Ensures accurate and timely billing to customers.

Meets key performance indicators to support the department, branch, product, and overall company goals.

Understands the operational process flow and constantly seeks improved ways for efficiency.

Protects confidential information of all customers and the Company

Qualifications

Education & Experience

1-3 years of ocean freight forwarding experience

Experience dealing with a high volume of data entry.

Associate"s degree or Bachelor"s degree

Mandarin Chinese or Cantonese Chinese (an asset)

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook & Excel
