Job Description

Our client, a maternity apparel brand, is seeking a Technical Designer to join their team on a part-time temporary basis! This role has the potential to become full-time hours down the line!

Fittings are onsite in Dumbo, Brooklyn.

Responsibilities:

• Plan & run weekly fit sessions.
• Capture & quantify feedback by creating fit reports with measurements and fit scores.
• Develop grading rules and guidelines.
• Issue pattern revisions within timelines
• Track impact on returns and exchanges alongside the operations team, targeting a 30% reduction in return rate within 12 months.
• Ensure that styles/SKUs meet fiber content
• Create tech packs/CADs for baby bump silhouettes and nursing friendly apparel.
• Present tech packs and physical/3D prototypes for line review approval.
• Work with the CEO to get samples developed and review for approval.
• Take ownership of the launch calendar (90 day track for sketch to launch)
• Maintain clear comments & timelines in PLM, flagging any delays.
• Support cost engineering reviews without compromising fit or fiber standards.

Requirements:

• 4-5+ years of working experience in Technical Design, with 1 year in maternity.
• Mastery of fit, grading, and garment construction.
• Examples of tech packs or CAD flats.
• Technical fluency in Adobe Suite & PLM systems- Airtable.
• Strong written & verbal communication skills.
• Capable of maintaining organization while handling multiple projects & priorities.
• Strong time management & problem-solving skills.
