Job Description
A growing global brand is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations for both domestic and international teams. This role plays a key part in supporting new and existing compensation programs, especially as the company continues to expand globally. The ideal candidate is analytical, customer-focused, and experienced in navigating payroll processes across multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, review, and execution of monthly payroll for 200+ employees across five countries.
- Manage international employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, and benefits enrollment; serve as a point of contact for employee payroll inquiries.
- Develop and implement strong internal controls and procedures to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Handle urgent payroll requests and escalations, including off-cycle payments and adjustments.
- Partner with Finance to support monthly reporting needs and assist HR during audits.
- Participate in payroll-related system implementations, providing input on testing and configuration.
- Oversee quarter-end and year-end tax adjustments, ensuring compliance with relevant local and international regulations.
- Maintain and enforce the payroll calendar, ensuring deadlines are met and data is properly entered.
- Manage and update the Employee Handbook in coordination with legal, ensuring regional compliance.
- Implement region-specific updates related to salary, wage, tax, and benefits regulations, and ensure alignment with HR software.
- Conduct audits, reconciliations, and resolution of payroll and timekeeping issues in compliance with internal policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in payroll processing, including international payroll.
- Experience with platforms like Rippling, Deel, or similar tools is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of payroll practices, including U.S. and international tax regulations.
- Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong project management and organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with a positive attitude and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Ability to work independently and drive results without close supervision.
