Job Description

The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant will serve as a key member of the Financial Reporting team and will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of timely financial statements for clients. This position is in our Northwest Houston, Texas office with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and provide lease operating statements, financial statements, charts of accounts, and other financial reports as defined by the client
  • Provide technical support to client and Opportune accountants on matters relating to financial and industry reporting standards
  • Develop and maintain payout and DD&A schedules for clients
  • Develop reports and provide analysis for clients and staff
  • Serve as client’s liaison on financial, joint venture, and royalty audits
  • Run monthly auditing system database for unprocessed records and close accounting periods
  • Prepare monthly calculations associated with ARO & Derivatives
  • Performs monthly and quarterly variance analysis and account reconciliations
  • Perform calculations associated with O&G property, DD&A
  • Prepares/assist with LOE, CAPEX acurals, and other amortization schedules as needed
  • Supports and prepares client quarterly debt compliance certificates
  • Supports the financial reporting close process
  • Meet clients closing schedule

Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience.
  • CPA or progress towards CPA is a plus
  • Must have strong professional presence and effective verbal/written communication.
  • Exceptional time-management, planning and administrative skills are required.
  • Proficiency with BOLO is preferred.
