Staff Scientist Staff Scientist for Morristown, NJ to execute design & development of solid, liquid, semi-solid & novel drug delivery dosage forms; coordinate & prioritize portfolio of formulation development projects to ensure stability and on-time delivery; develop formulations; create product dossiers for new products; contribute to new product innovation through research, prototyping & identification of new drug delivery technologies; present new product ideas to commercial teams. Requires Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Science, Industrial Pharmacy, Chemistry or closely-related field & 1 yr experience developing multiple formulation dosages and discovery drug delivery systems; identifying & evaluating drug release mechanisms; generating regression models to evaluate relationship between tablet excipients & drug release rates; evaluating tablets for weight variation, friability, hardness & porosity; analyzing drug concentrations using HPLC; developing & executing drug formulations using JMP software, including evaluating formulation characteristics and adjusting process variables for formulation optimization; using FTIR, DSC & PXRD analysis to characterize intermediates and final formulations for evaluation of bioadhesive properties; evaluating globule size using a droplet size distributor & in vitro drug release using a USP Apparatus II dissolution apparatus; developing nano-based drug delivery systems, including targeted nanopaticles loaded with drugs; applying a Quality by Design approach for drug development; using hydrophilic matrices, micro-environmental pH modifiers & stress stability test data to develop novel drug delivery dosage forms, including sustained release tablets; and analyzing rheology, transmittance & turbidity and preparing ternary phase diagrams for the development of self-emulsifying drug delivery systems. Will also accept Master's in said fields & 4 yrs stated experience. Telecommuting permitted from location within reasonable commuting distance of Morristown, NJ up to 1 day per week.
