Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Upholsterer to upholster, repair, and restore furniture with precision and craftsmanship. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, proficiency with upholstery tools, and a keen eye for design

Key Responsibilities:

Upholstering Furniture:

• Covers furniture frames with padding and fabric or leather.
• Measures, cuts, and sews fabric and leather to fit furniture.
• Uses sewing machines, stitches, staples, tacks, and glue to secure materials.
• Applies decorative techniques like fringing, piping, and buttoning.

Repair and Restoration:

• Repairs and restores furniture, including chairs, sofas, and other upholstered items.
• Replaces or repairs padding, springs, webbing on chairs and other furniture components; should be knowledgeable on the application of gimp and cording.
• Refinishes exposed wood and mends fabrics.

Custom Upholstery:

• Creates custom upholstery pieces, including cushions, and pillows.
• Works with interior designers to coordinate fabrics, furnishings, patterns, and colors.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Skills:
• Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and sewing fabric and leather.
• Knowledge of different fabrics and upholstery methods.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Qualifications:
• On-the-job training, apprenticeships, or technical education preferred
