This position will be in the Building Maintenance Department working to provide safe, comfortable, attractive and sustainable environments for our campus users. A successful candidate will help provide service with carpentry, painting and roofing skills helping to ensure the longevity and safety of campus buildings. The Facilities, Maintenance & Operations Department maintains approximately 3 million square feet of building space on the UAA campus in a variety of trades.
To thrive in this role the candidate will be energetic, outgoing and eager to learn. We are looking for a team player that may not have all of the skills but is willing to have an open mind and to grow in the position. Skill attainment will be supplemented by working alongside skilled tradesmen that will assist in the learning process that will be supplemented with training.
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 to 6 years related experience and/or training. Need a High School diploma and exposure to industrial and/or power tools. Knowledge of carpentry, painting and roofing and the safety skills needed for the trades and environment. Entry level skills and exposure with some on the job experience in building maintenance or a related field. Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UAA requirements.
